Come spend the afternoon with us!
On Sunday, October 5th from 12β2 PM, the North Park Fire Department and our neighbors at Northwest Fire are hosting Fire Prevention Open House.
Weβre excited to welcome the REACT Helicopter, which will be flying in for everyone to check out up close!
This event is all about bringing families and neighbors together. Kids and adults alike can explore the fire trucks, meet the firefighters, and learn more about what we do, all while having fun.
Mark your calendars and stop by for a couple of hours of community, safety, and excitement. Weβd love to see you there!

How about having ice-cream ?
We must never forget the tragedy of 9/11.
And we must find common ground to become the unified country once again that we were on 9/12.

Huge thanks to the Northwest Fire Protection District personnel that covered our district this evening so our personnel and families could enjoy the evening as a group at the SkyCarp game tonight! We're fortunate to have some great neighbors. ... See MoreSee Less
Hopefully the concession staff treated you guys right. π
We're excited to share that the fire district now has an improved ability to maintain and repair our apparatus in-house. We recently found used mobile column lifts acquired for an amazing price, had them re-certified as part of the purchase agreement, and now we're capable of performing even more maintenance and service using our in-house talent. We're confident over the next year that this investment will save our taxpayers a great deal as we strive to be good stewards of our limited tax dollars. Thanks to our board for their vision in supporting our efforts to be frugal and stretch our resources. ... See MoreSee Less
That is awesome. Be able to work on your own stuff. It’s a big step forward. Saving the tax dollars.
Well Done Loves Park Fire Department! “Charlie Mike” π
That's awesome, I know that's been a dream for sometime!
I remember very well Charlie and I repairing trucks all the time. Rebuilding pumps and clutches on the front pump units was a yearly event. We put a lot of late nights in back then. I wouldn’t trade that memory with Charlie for anything.
That’s amazing !
Great move Joel
We did our maintenance in house. If it was technical then we had an outsider come in and fix ours. I did mainly 90% of our maintenance.
I remember when I ran out of wood Ave station we had a grease pit where we would do the oil changes and greasing the under carriage of the equipment.
Love this and us folks here in South Beloit don’t even have a fire station .
Might want to check with your insurance provider.
Thank you!
Nice

β± Call Volume by Time of Day
β’ 62.56% of all incidents occur during daytime hours, when available staffing is typically at its lowest.
β’ This reinforces the ongoing need to evaluate and strengthen weekday daytime coverage, especially for EMS and fire suppression roles.
________________________________________
π EMS Mutual Aid Dependency
β’ In 142 instances so far in 2025, North Park had to request mutual aid ambulances due to our primary ambulance being committed to other incidents.
β’ This is a key performance indicator stressing the operational strain on a single staffed ambulance, especially during periods of overlapping calls.

π Incident Type Breakdown
Incident Type % of Total Calls
Medical 71.70%
Fire 5.11%
Service Calls 7.97%
Good Intent 9.19%

π Key Takeaways
β’ Increasing call volume continues to stress limited resources and response capabilities.
β’ EMS demand is far outpacing current single-ambulance availability.
β’ Daytime incident surges require targeted staffing solutions to meet community expectations and NFPA 1710/1720 compliance.
β’ Data supports the ongoing justification for operational enhancements, including staffing, equipment, and resource allocation.
