Stop whining Machesney Park does not have extra money. Our water is polluted. You got a new building. Be grateful for that. We are closing 2 schools and cutting back on teaching in another..Have a bake sale, wash cars, have garage sales, get private donors do something for yourself.
You need help. Too bad nobody understands this. Keep up your hard work. You are seen and appreciated!
There is a cost for everything.

Mutual and automatic aid agreements are great when reciprocal and fair. They work great for fires as it allows agencies involved to achieve NFPA standard staffing on scene in a timely manner, and we all give and take equally.
Relying on other agencies to send an ambulance to 1 in 5 of our ambulance calls is not equitable or fair. North Park should be able to cover the vast majority of our EMS responses on our own.

Having only 1 paramedic on duty isn’t good either. Sometimes you need another medic and time isn’t available to wait.
North Park is no longer the sleepy, run-from-home volunteer department with low call volume. The district needs to increase staffing and response capability to keep up with demand. ... See MoreSee Less

How many full time fire medics?
How many staffing are you currently running in our area per day? What is the current model?
We need you. I voted YES
Seconds save lives. The district increasingly faces overlapping calls.
Mutual aid is a great solution for overwhelming calls. It is NOT the answer for 1 in 5 calls. The district should be capable of handling the bulk of our emergency responses on our own.
