North Park FD responded to the 4800 block of Springbrook road for a 2 vehicle traffic accident with injuries blocking the street. 3 patients were transported by North Park, Loves Park and Northwest ambulances.

North Park FD responded to a vehicle fire after the vehicle exploded. I patient transported to the hospital with burn injuries. Cause is still under investigation.
I was outside and live two houses southwest of this, and when it initially exploded, it was so loud and such an immense explosion, it shook the ground. My first thought was that an entire house exploded from a gas leak because it was that loud. I then saw the smoke. As I soon as I saw the smoke, I heard the sirens. Ive got to say, by my estimate, the Fire Dept were on scene within 3 - 4 minutes after I heard that incredible explosion, and maybe not even that long. They were lightning fast getting there. What a great job by North Park Fire Dept and especially that fast response time. It's a real comfort to know these guys are only a few minutes away.
They all looked so professional. Everyone had their job to do, and they did it. Great job North Park Fire Protection District!!

Tuesday night (9/23) North Park Fire had the honor of swearing in eight of our ten new members, as well as having loved ones pin badges on these new firefighters as well as three new Lieutenants and two new Captains.
Congrats to new firefighters Brandon Boyle, Eliana Carlson, Cullen Duncan, Riley Freeman, Moise Kossike, Damir Kovacevic, Kalvin Kramer, and Donnie Lewis. Firefighters Tristan Johnson and Austin Speck will be sworn in at a later date as they couldn't miss an EMT class exam that was a conflict.
New Lieutenants are Ethan Chrichton-Hill, Jeremy Glick and Tyler Keller. Newly promoted Captains are Timothy Dutcher and Brandon Lamprich. New officers completed a written exam, tabletop tactical exercise graded by neighboring chief officers, as well as an interview process. All five worked hard to earn their promotions.
